The
Calgary Pub Darts Association
RULES FOR THE SPARE PLAYER
These
are guidelines that are to be used for the Spare Player.
- Teams are NOT required
to carry the Spare Player.
- Teams are allowed to
have only ONE Spare Player.
- If a team chooses to
have the Spare Player, they must pay a $5.00 fee to register the
player. This fee is
in addition to the Player Change fee, if required. This fee covers the cost of a Darts
Alberta membership.
- The Spare Player must
be designated as the Spare Player on the rosters and the CPDA must be
informed of the designation.
- The Spare Player can
ONLY be used as the 5th or 6th player. If a team has 6, 7 or 8 regular roster
players in attendance, the Spare Player is NOT eligible to play that
night. The ONLY time the Spare
Player is eligible to play is when a team has only 4 or 5 regular roster
players in attendance.
Example: if a team has 5
regular roster players then the Spare Player is eligible to play to allow the
team to play with 6 players for that night.
- If the Spare Player
plays when ineligible, all games in which the Spare Player participates
will be forfeit and the game will be awarded to the non-offending
team.
Example: if a team has 7 regular roster players and
the Spare Player plays in order to allow the team to have 8 players that night,
then any games in which the Spare Player plays will be forfeit.
- If a team wishes to
change the status of the Spare Player to that of a regular roster
position, the team must submit the request via a Player Change Form. All regular requirements for the Player
Change Form must be met (i.e.: fee paid by the proper date).
- Spare Players are allowed to compete in the Doubles and Singles
competitions.
- For the 2009-10 season ONLY:
if a team has already placed 9 players on their roster without
designating which player is the Spare Player, then the team must declare
which player is the Spare Player no later than September 25, 2009. This date is the deadline for Player
Changes for the second week of the season.
