CPDA Annual Banquet
We are quickly coming to the end of sales for banquet tickets. If you do not have your tickets yet, PLEASE get in contact with the League Secretary Krystal Klein-Kight. Tickets are only availiable until MAY 10, 2013. Our banquet this year will be held at the Forst Lawn Legion, on May 25, 2013. Cocktails at 5:30, Dinner at 6:30, Awards at 8:00pm. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of long
CPDA member Art Toderian.
1950 - 2013
Art Toderian passed away suddenly on March 7, 2013 at home in Calgary. Art leaves behind a legacy of love and special relationships. He enriched the lives of everyone he met. Left to celebrate his life is his wife Patricia, brother Wayne (Wendy), sister in-law Nadine, stepson Mike, and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service and Reception for Art will be held on March 15, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Marda Loop Communities Association, 3130 - 16 Street S.W., Calgary, AB. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to his wife Patricia Hatherly. Messages to the family may be left at www.southcalgaryfuneralcentre.ca. CPDA Helps out with the Alberta 55 & Over
During the month of February, Collin MacVicar
- CPDA President volunteered his time with the Alberta 55 & Over
Winter Games to help organize the Darts section of the games. Collin
Himself as well as Krystal Kight, Heather Wharran, James Smith, Wendy
Smith and Taylor Smith spent days before the event giving the old dart
board standards a new look. Everything is stream-line in colour now,
basic black and easy to see. We all had fun setting up the boards for
everyone to play on, and we also know that Collin helped make a
difference in this year's games. Hats off to the Volunteers!
annual Family Day shoot was held on Feb 18, 2013 at Penbrooke Community
Center. We had a great turnout despite Provincial's being played this
weekend as well. We would like to say thank you to everyone who came
out to play and congratulations to our winners.

The CPDA Anual Turkey shoot was held on December 15, 2012 and as usual was a great success. We had 60 total participants this year. Congratulations to everyone who recieved a turkey, and thank you to all who participated, we hope you all have a Merry Christmas & Joyous New Year!
CPDA Helps one of our own to attend the 2012 World MastersSeptember 27, 2012 -
As a member of the league, Linda Ledingham was presented with a cheque for $200.00 from the Calgary Pub Darts Association to help towards her expenses to represent Canada at the 2012 World Masters in England next month. In a phone interview with Linda, she commented "I really appreciate the league's generous donation. I encourage all dart players to reach for their greatest potential. Attending the World Masters is a great experience and I hope to represent CPDA, Darts Alberta and Canada to the best of my ability."
Linda is one of seven Darts Alberta members that earned an invitation to the 2012 World Masters. Although not all are able to attend this year, here are those that received an invitation and how it was earned:
- Norm Tremblay - 2012 Canadian Nationals Men's Singles Champion
- Shaun Narain - 2012 Canadian Nationals Men's Singles - 5th place (won Joint 5th playoff)
- Rick Arnott - 2012 Klondike Open Men's Singles Champion (WDF Ranked event)
- Terry Hayhurst - 2012 Canadian Open Men's Singles Champion (WDF Ranked event)
- Cindy Pardy - 2012 Canadian Nationals Women's Singles Champion
- Linda Ledingham - 2012 Greater Vancouver Open Women's Singles Champion (WDF Ranked event)
- Dawson Murschell (Youth) - Winner of the 2012 World Masters Youth Qualifier
