1.        Dartboard
The dartboard shall be of the standard clock with a double bull pattern and shall be a bristle/fibre board. The centre of the
bull shall be 5 feet 8 inches or 1.73m from the floor.

1.1     Dart Area
The spacing between dartboards (bull to bull) will be a minimum of 60 inches.  Unrestricted behind the oche line for
standing is not less than 4 feet for each board. There shall be a minimum of 7 feet unobstructed ceiling height
           for each board.

1.2    Lighting
The lighting for each board is to be a minimum 100-watt non-glare reflector flood. Lighting fixtures should not obstruct the
face of the board in any manner and should be directed towards the board's surface.

2.       Throwing Distance
The oche shall be 7 feet 9 1/4 inches or 2.368m measured horizontally from the face of the dartboard.

2.1    Oche lines
An adequate oche line marking must be supplied for each board.

3.      Toe Line
No player shall deliver a dart with his footwear in any other position than completely behind the toe edge of the line.
The opposing captain shall first warn any player in breach of this rule in the presents of his own captain and any dart
subsequently thrown in breach of this rule will not score.

4.    Scoring
Darts shall only score the point of which shall remain in the board within the outer double ring wire. The score obtained is
counted from the sides of the segment wire in which the point entered the board. The inner bull shall count as 50 and shall
be  deemed a double. The outer bull shall count as 25.

The player at the line may request information as to what has been scored and remaining points (not the double to go out on).
The scorer shall give this information. If the information given is wrong and the mistake not picked up by the time the next
player of the same team throws his/her dart then the score on the scoreboard shall be deemed correct.

During play the only people who can give information to the player who is at the line as regards to what score is required
and how to go about obtaining it are team members. This information can only be given if the player steps back from the
line and requests it. Team members shall not be allowed to stand behind a player telling them what to shoot for. The
scoreboard shall be clearly marked at the completion of a turn showing both the score made and the score required.
It is the responsibility of the player to ensure that the scorer has called the correct score before removing their darts
from the board. The bust rule shall apply, i.e. if a player scores more than the required score, then the score shall
remain at what it was before the turn. The game ends when the double is hit regardless of other darts thrown.

4.1.  Chalk Boards
They should be of a permanent type with either a black or green surface. They should be no smaller than 24 inches by
16  inches. Chalk and board dusters should be available for all boards.

5.    Scorers
The home team shall provide scorers.

6.    Score Sheets
Official score sheets shall be issued to all team captains. Both captains shall sign both score sheets at the completion of
the match and this signifies that they are in agreement as to the scores recorded. Protests shall not be allowed after
the captains have signed the score sheets. (See rule 9.2)  Players, who score180's and high finishes of 101 or greater,
shall have their names recorded on the score sheet and both captains shall initial the entry. Failure to record these will
result in the loss of the score and any requests to register these scores at a later date will be denied.  The captains are
responsible for faxing of their score sheet to the Head Statistician. Missing score sheets at the deadline dates will result in
the loss of section points, match points, 180's and high finishes in delinquency. I.e. Team 2 won the match 13 - 8 with
2 match points. The score sheet was not  received in the allowable time resulting in a loss of the 2 match points and
13 section points. If team 2, sent in their score sheet  on time and the losing team did not, that team would lose 8 points
and 0 match points.  The deadline date is the Wednesday  following the Monday night of play.
(i.e. September 15th play - deadline for receipt of score sheet is September 17.)  Captains  must fax their score sheet to
the Head Statistician within the allotted time, regardless of whether you win or lose.

NOTE:  All scores are final except for teams with missing score sheets these scores will be finalized upon receipt of score sheet confirmation only.

FORMAT FOR PLAYING WITH 5 PLAYERS

When playing with 5 players only you will automatically forfeit 2 single matches and there will only be 1 draw for the sixth
singles match.  For Doubles Play -  follow play schedule.

DOUBLES
The Line-Up Chart provided by the C.P.D.A will determine doubles play.  The Visiting team will number their players
from 1 to  the number of players who have arrived in time to play and mark them down accordingly on the doubles
area of the score sheet.  At that time the Home team will number their players and mark them down on the doubles
area of the score sheet.  The  balance of the doubles area of the score sheet will be filled out accordingly as
        determined by the Line-Up Chart.

The players for the 13th doubles match will be determine by a random draw where the names of all eligible players will be
written on a piece of paper from which the opposing captains will draw two names.  The drawn names will play the 13th
doubles match even if the random draw places two pairings that have already played (i.e. Visiting players Joe & Jane
have already played Home players Mike & Mark as set out in the Line-Up Chart; if both Joe & Jane and Mike & Mark
are all randomly drawn to play the 13th they will play again for the second time that night).  In the case of a division only
playing 9 doubles you do not have to draw the 9th doubles just follow the draw sheet.

The Home Captain will determine which dart boards will be used for the matches in both doubles play and singles play
but matches must be played in the order as marked down on the score sheet.  The Home team will place the names of
the match-ups on the chalkboards and play will begin.

For each match toss of a coin shall determine the order of play.  Winner of the toss starts the odd legs, loser of the toss starts
the even legs and the winner of the toss shall have the choice of Bull in the final leg.

Once a round of matches is completed the Home team must place the next round of names on the chalkboards and the
next  round of matches can begin you do not have to wait until the first round is completed before you put up the
        next round of doubles.

     SINGLES
In the event that a team has less than 8 players on a night names will be randomly drawn from the players who were not
drawn for the 13th double match.  The drawn player(s) will be used to fill up the 8 matches on the score sheet.  These
players  CANNOT be the same players who were randomly drawn for the Doubles play. (i.e. a team only has 6 players and
players  "Joe" and "Jane" were randomly drawn for the 13th doubles match. The remaining 4 players' names are placed
on a piece of  paper and then 2 names are randomly drawn. Those drawn players will then be playing an additional singles match).

The visiting team will mark their Singles players on the score sheet, including randomly drawn players if necessary,
in any order that they wish.  The only exception is that the drawn player(s) will be placed at the end of the Draw.
eg(mike gets drawn for the extra singles match - he will be place in the 8th match position, if 2 players are drawn they
will be placed in 7th & 8th position)

The Home team captain will then match up the Home players to the Visiting Team's players but CANNOT match up
players more than once (i.e. "John" is drawn for the visiting team and therefore his name is on the singles score
sheet twice; "Jack" is  drawn from the home team; the home captain can have them play one match against each
          other but NOT two).

8.   Postponements.
There shall be no postponement of matches.  The purpose of carrying eight players on a roster is to ensure that 5 players are
available on any given C.P.D.A dart night.

9.0  Protests

9.1   All protests or disputes, regarding playing conditions, (position of board or oche, type of board, height, length of throw,
condition of dart board, toe line, lighting, etc) must be made before play commences. If no protest is made prior to the
commencement of the game, this will signify that the playing conditions were satisfactory and agreed to by the competitors
taking part in the match.  Failing settlement on the spot, the match shall be played under protest, and the score sheet shall be
        marked as being "UNDER PROTEST."

9.2   All protest must be made in writing, full reasons being stated and must be posted together with the score sheet to the
Secretary within 24 hours of the match in question.  Postage machine imprints will not be accepted as proof of mailing date.
A protest fee of $5.00 shall accompany the protest.  If the protest is upheld the fee will be returned.

9.3   Any protest on the night must be written on the score sheet prior to the captains signing.

9.4   Any other protests re: conduct, time, scores, or any other reason, with the exception of ineligible players shall
        remain as in 9.2

9.5   In the case of ineligible players any captain has the right to contact the C.P.D.A. Head Statistician to establish player status.
Should protest be needed refer to 9.2

10.    Teams
A team shall consist of a maximum of eight players and a minimum of Five players.  Each team shall appoint a captain and
a co-captain.  These individuals shall be made known to the executive at the time of team registration.  Five players of the
team shall constitute a legal line-up on any evening of C.P.D.A. play.

Team registration shall be on a date set by the executive at the Annual general Meeting and shall be at least one
week before scheduled commencement of play.  To register a team must have a minimum of six players.

If the captain wishes to add players then he must register those additional players with the head statistician prior to
commencement of play.  No unregistered player may play for any team in the C.P.D.A.  If a team fields an unregistered
player, it  will result in the forfeiture of all matches in which the unregistered player participated (see 9.4).  No player
may transfer from one team to another team after the registration date, without there being sufficient extenuating
circumstances to warrant such a move.  The move will be subject to the approval of the executive.  If a player quits
the C.P.D.A., he will be de-registered and  he may not play for any team for the rest of the season.  The team may
acquire a non-registered player to replace the one who has quit.

If the Disciplinary Committee suspends a team member, the team may not pick up another player to replace the
suspended player for the duration of that member's suspension.  Teams registered in the Calgary Pub Darts Association,
located in a venue for the purposes of C.P.D.A. play, must play the entire season from that venue.  If after registration
a team registered  through a sponsoring venue wishes to leave without the consent of the venue management, they
will be de-registered for the balance of the season.  If on the request of the venue management a team is asked to leave,
there will be no penalty applied to the team.  If a team fires a player, then the captain must inform the executive of what
has transpired.  With the approval of the executive, the team may replace the fired player with any non-registered player.
An approved replacement form must be delivered to the Head Stat or Stats Coordinator no later than the Friday preceding
the match in which the replacement will compete, accompanied with a fee for each replacement.  This fee will be $5.00 per
newly registered player.  A replacement form will be deemed to have been received if it is post marked or hand delivered
to the head statistician on that Friday.  Postage machine imprints will not be accepted as proof of mailing date.  Failing
approval of the executive, this team shall play without the services of a replacement.

Subject to the approval of the executive, the fired player may seek an alternate team with which to play.  If a team withdraws from the C.P.D.A., all points that other teams have scored against that team become null and void.

11.  Divisions

C.P.D.A. play shall be on a divisional basis.  The number of divisions and the number of teams shall be decided by the
executive, based on the number of teams entered on the registration date.  The number of match points that they have
obtained determines teams' standings in a division.  In the event that two or more teams are tied, then the number of
section points won shall determine their respective positions.  At the end of match play for a season, if two or more
teams have the same number of match and section points then they shall play amongst each other until a clear winner
        can be determined.

At  the end of C.P.D.A. play for a season, the bottom three teams in a division will start the next season in the lower division,
if there is one; the top three teams in a division will start the next season in the next higher division, if there is one.  To be
eligible to resume play the following season in the position that the previous season dictated the team must retain a majority
of its players from the previous season's roster.  If this is not the case, it is solely an executive decision as to which division
        that  team plays in.

12.   Format of Play

The order of play for team competition shall be doubles and then singles.
        See 7.1 for alternate play.
